Big changes for ABC News as Diane Sawyer, David Muir and George Stephanopoulos take on new roles. Sawyer, who will be leaving the anchor desk of “World News” while staying with the network to work on special projects, will be replaced by David Muir on September 2. The network also announced that George Stephanopoulos will take on the role of chief anchor – for breaking news and special events – in addition to his current duties with Good Morning America and This Week.
