WASHINGTON — Blue Engine Message & Media is pleased to announce the addition of Price Floyd and Chasity Cooper to its rapidly growing strategic communications team. Combined, they offer Blue Engine clients top flight digital communications and social media experience to assist strategic planning and improve tactical outcomes.

“We’re thrilled to have Price and Chasity join our team and expand our ability to provide strategic communications expertise, particularly in the critical area of digital communications,” said Erik Smith, founder of Blue Engine.

Price Floyd has extensive communications experience at the most senior levels of government and within the private sector, most recently as Vice President of Communications for BAE Systems, responsible for Internal Communications and Global Digital Strategy.  Immediately prior to joining BAE Systems, Floyd was the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs (PDASD) from April 2009 until August 2010.  In this role he served as staff advisor and assistant to the Secretary of Defense and Deputy Secretary of Defense for public information, internal information and community relations.  Floyd led the worldwide public affairs community of approximately 2,400 military and civilian personnel.  In this capacity, he transformed the Defense community into a digital leader in communications, launching all of the Defense Departments’ social media platforms and creating an engaged and proactive public affairs workforce.

From 2007 through 2009 Floyd served as the chief communications officer for  the Center for a New American Security.  He was responsible for promoting their policy initiatives and experts and to transform it, from founding, into one of the pre-eminent national security organizations in the United States. At the U.S. Department of State Price Floyd held several positions between 1990 and 2007.  His final position was Director of Media Affairs, in which capacity he led the day-to-day relations with the media and developed and implemented media strategies to promote the foreign policy agenda of the Department.

“Price not only offers our clients deep expertise using digital tools to communicate effectively in complex situations but his experience with internal communications, responsible for engaging 40,000 employees at BAE Systems, is often the missing piece of comprehensive communications plans for those looking to mobilize their employees, supporters or members in a public affairs fight or crisis situation,” said Smith.

Chasity joins the firm as a communications and social media marketing strategist focused on providing innovative counsel to national non-profit clients on traditional and digital media strategic communications, crisis mitigation, and thought leadership.

“Chasity’s enthusiasm for the non-profit sector and evolving online communications platforms will enable our clients to amplify their messages and expand their reach to those in need,” continued Erik.

Prior to joining Blue Engine, Chasity served as the community relations coordinator for 2U, Inc., an educational technology company that partners with universities to offer online degree programs. While there, she managed one of their online program’s social media accounts and blog, prepared and executed inbound marketing campaigns to increase website traffic, and leveraged relationships with bloggers, thought leaders and organizations within the public administration space.

Based in Washington DC, Blue Engine provides innovative strategic communications solutions to the complex challenges facing corporations, non-profits and advocacy groups particularly when their reputation, brand or market position faces a threat or opportunity.  Blue Engine specializes in providing informed strategic counsel and hands-on support to clients facing the unique challenges of a politically-charged policy landscape.
