Award-winning military correspondent Yochi Dreazen is joining Vox to lead the outlet’s foreign policy coverage as Deputy Managing Editor. He leaves Foreign Policy after three years overseeing an 11-person team as Managing Editor of News.
Dreazen has covered military affairs and national security for most of his 17-year journalism career, including nearly four years on the ground in the Middle East as The Wall Street Journal’s main Iraq correspondent. Apart from his 11 years at WSJ, Dreazen served as Senior National Security Correspondent for National Journal as well as a Contributing Editor for The Atlantic. In 2010, Dreazen was awarded the Military Reporters & Editors Association’s top award for domestic military reporting in a large publication.
Dreazen announced his move to Vox in a tweet early Monday morning.
Big personal news: I’m joining @voxdotcom to run their foreign coverage. Really, really psyched to work with @ezraklein and the team there.
