This past weekend, Blue Engine’s Erik Smith participated in the American Bar Association’s 18th Annual Conference plenary session focused on media coverage of the 2012 election. Considering questions of media bias, substance vs. “the horse race” and truth and accuracy in reporting, Erik also reflected on the impact of social media, partisan media outlets as well as the legal ramifications of major issues, like the wide distribution of a film taken at a private campaign meeting. The panel also featured NBC News political director and chief White House correspondent Chuck Todd and USA Today’s Washington bureau chief Susan Page among others.
