BuzzFeed Adds New Writers, Makes Promotions in DC Bureau

11.18.16

With the election over, a new administration taking power and new members of Congress coming to town, BuzzFeed is investing in its DC bureau. Some of the big changes include naming Kate Nocera the DC bureau chief and promoting John Stanton from bureau chief to a senior national correspondent role. BuzzFeed political writer Adrian Carrasquillo will be the new White House reporter, former managing editor of Countable and Vice News veteran Sarah Mimms will become a DC editor, and Zoe Tillman, formerly of National Law Journal/Legal Times will focus on federal courts and justice.

Shani Hilton, head of U.S. news for BuzzFeed News, described the DC bureau as a “vital investment” and the roles of those in the DC newsroom as “crucial and essential.” For more, read POLITICO’s coverage here.
