Before joining Blue Engine, Cynthia Montes worked on the Bernie 2016 presidential campaign. During her time on the campaign Cynthia worked with the national Latino outreach team and communications team. Cynthia worked directly with the campaign’s national press secretary for Latino outreach. In her role, a typical day would begin by making pitch calls to journalists, researching press clips, updating or creating media lists, making calls for op-ed placements, and attending campaign events to assist reporters. After Sanders ended his presidential bid, Cynthia participated in a voter registration project in an effort to register unrepresented communities in Orange County, CA. A California native, Cynthia received her Bachelor of Arts in political science from California State University, Fullerton. During her time at the university, Cynthia participated in the Cal State DC scholars program, was a member of Phi Sigma Alpha political science honors society, and the Latino Communications Initiative. On her free time Cynthia enjoys spending time at the beach, going to the gym and hiking.
