Prior to joining Seven Letter, Imani participated in the Public Policy Holding Company fellowship which exposed fellows to five industry-leading governmental relations and public affairs firms located in Washington, D.C. and Boston, MA. During her fellowship, Imani rotated through Seven Letter before joining the team as a Content Specialist. She concluded the fellowship by presenting a comprehensive policy proposal presentation, outlining the Federal Aggregated Drug Database Act (FAAD Act) accompanied by a strategic public awareness campaign to amplify the proposed legislation.
Previously, she served as the legislative aide for The Black and Asian Democratic Caucus (BADC) in Rochester, New York where she represented five legislators within the larger Monroe County Legislature. At the BADC, Imani participated in the drafting of “Gantts Law”, managed and updated the caucus’ social media platforms and website, and drafted and published the caucus’ press releases and media advisories. Prior to serving as legislative aide, Imani interned for Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, within the Senate Diversity Initiative.
Originally from Silver Spring, Maryland but a New Yorker at heart, Imani calls Rochester her home. She now lives in Arlington, VA where she loves to go bachata dancing and exploring the wonders of nature at local parks and reserves.
