Susan Glasser – the founding editor of POLITICO Magazine, former editor of POLITICO and host of the “The Global Politico” podcast – is joining The New Yorker as a full-time staff writer. She had been writing a bimonthly column for the magazine’s website.
NewYorker.com editor Michael Luo announced her move on Twitter, sharing that Glasser will write a weekly online column titled “Letter from Trump’s Washington” as well as contributing print pieces and podcasts.
In a note to staff, POLITICO editor-in-chief John Harris commended Glasser saying, “In her time as newsroom leader, she pushed successfully for expanded editing for our policy teams and steered agenda-setting coverage of the 2016 election.”
Before POLITICO, Glasser served as the editor-in-chief of Foreign Policy, held multiple roles at the Washington Post and was an editor at Roll Call.
Her first New Yorker column will run in April.
