Cat Zakrzewski is heading to the Washington Post to anchor a new PowerPost newsletter. The Tech 202 newsletter – launching in October – will cover the intersection of Washington and Silicon Valley. Zakrzewski is a former venture capitalist reporter for the Wall Street Journal and the forthcoming Tech 202 will be the sixth PowerPost newsletter offered by the Post.
The Post’s national editor Steven Ginsberg, PowerPost editor Rachel Van Dongen, and deputy editor of PowerPost Sara Sorcher praised Zakrzewski saying, “Her experience and sourcing in Silicon Valley will help inform her coverage of the rapidly changing policy debate on Capitol Hill, within the regulatory agencies and in the White House.” Additionally, at the Post she will cover the future of news coverage in the age of social media, challenges the government faces in keeping up with new technologies, and the competition among tech giants.
Before joining the Journal, Zakrzewski covered tech policy for TechCrunch and covered Massachusetts congressional delegation as an intern at the Boston Globe.
She will begin at the Post on August 20th.
