Washington Post Adds Cathleen Decker as Campaign Editor

Veteran political reporter Cathleen Decker joins the Washington Post’s national politics team as campaign editor.  In that role, Decker will oversee the Post’s coverage of the 2018 and 2020 campaigns.

In a press release, national editor Steven Ginsberg said Decker will be “leading a growing and talented reporting crew that will ensure the Post remains the dominant source for national politics.”

Decker, a 40-year veteran of the Los Angeles Times, most recently covered Capitol Hill and the Trump administration at the Time’s Washington bureau.  She has also covered nine presidential elections and eight governors’ races during her tenure at the Times.  Decker started at the Post on May 21st.
