Jeff Zeleny, formerly of the New York Times and Chicago Tribune will soon join CNN’s Washington bureau and political unit as their senior Washington correspondent covering the 2016 election for both television and digital platforms. Zeleny is joining CNN from ABC News where he made the leap from print to broadcast following successful stints at the Times, Tribune, the Des Moines Register and the Lincoln Journal Star from his native Nebraska. The 2016 cycle will be Zeleny’s fifth presidential campaign and comes as CNN continues to ramp up staffing for 2016. Read more about his move in POLITICO’s Playbook here.
