Mark Preston and Chris Frates to headline new shows on SiriusXM

Mark Preston and Chris Frates, two veteran political reporters with long histories at CNN, will each headline their own show for Sirius XM.

Preston, the executive editor for CNN Politics, will headline a new show called “Full Stop With Mark Preston.” A former congressional correspondent at Roll Call prior to joining CNN 12 years ago, where he directs political coverage, Preston envisions his show fulfilling a unique niche in today’s especially contentious political environment.  He told POLITICO that he wants to use “Full Stop,” which will air Saturdays at noon, “to step off the breaking news wheel for one hour a week to hear interesting stories from compelling people in politics and pop culture.” Preston will also keep his day job at CNN.

The first episode will debut Saturday July 29th and will feature a conversation with CNN chief political correspondent Dana Bash and CNN chief political analyst Gloria Borger.

Frates, who previously hosted “Politics Inside Out” with Preston, will now take over as the sole host of the newly renamed “Politics Inside Out with Chris Frates.” Prior to his tenure at Sirius XM, Frates reported for The Denver Post, POLITICO, and the National Journal, and most recently served as an investigative correspondent for CNN. “Politics Inside Out with Chris Frates” will continue to regularly air Saturday at 9 am.
