Michael Calderone returns to POLITICO

After six years at HuffPost, media reporter Michael Calderone is heading back to POLITICO to cover media and take over its popular Morning Media column.

POLITICO’s editors announced Calderone’s return in a staff email saying, “Michael brings not only his sources throughout the industry and ability to break important news, but a commitment to maintain the excellence of our Morning Media newsletter and take it to new heights.”

During a previous tenure at POLITICO, Calderone covered the first years of the Obama presidency as well as tracked the finances of major brands. As a senior media reporter at the HuffPost, he won a National Press Club award for his report on the Benghazi attacks. Calderone is also an adjunct professor of journalism at New York University.

Calderone will make his move back to POLITICO on September 19th.
