POLITICO Marks ‘Relaunch Moment,’ New Year With Hires, Promotions

Proclaiming this “a major relaunch moment” for POLITICO, editor Susan Glasser announced several new hires and promotions in early January. Among them, Reuters Washington bureau chief Marilyn Thompson is joining POLITICO as deputy editor and Politico’s lead congressional reporter John Bresnahan has been promoted to be the outlet’s Capitol Hill bureau chief. POLITICO also announced the hiring of Bill Duryea from the Tampa Bay Times who will be the new enterprise editor and Maura Reynolds, formerly of Bloomberg News and the Los Angeles Times, who will serve as POLITICO’S new White House editor. Glasser also hinted at more new arrivals in the coming weeks.
