Veteran political reporter and columnist who returned to Detroit last year has been named publisher of Crain’s Detroit Business. Fournier will also continue serving as the paper’s editor, a role he assumed in December. His focus will include managing audience development, editorial operations and sales. Fournier joined Crain’s to “reshape the newsroom,” growing the emphasis of digital resources.

About Fournier, KC Crain, Executive Vice President of Crain Communications Inc., said, “We couldn’t be happier to have Ron take over the publisher role. His experience will continue to position Crain’s as the go-to news brand for the city.”

According to the Detroit News, Fournier will help Crain’s expand custom content offerings “consistent with its mission to help area businesses succeed” as a way to grow revenue.
