The Intercept named veteran reporter and author Ryan Grim as its new Washington bureau chief. Grim, who spent nearly a decade at the newly-rebranded HuffPost, helped usher in that news site’s era of original reporting. During his time at HuffPost, where he also served as Washington bureau chief, reporters were twice named finalists for Pulitzer Prizes, as Lydia Polgreen, HuffPost’s editor-in-chief, noted in a memo to the staff.

Polgreen praised Grim, calling him “one of the most authoritative voices in Washington on a wide range of topics” and saying he has always given a voice to the voiceless.
