Sam Stein is heading to The Daily Beast after more than a decade at HuffPost. At The Daily Beast, Stein will serve as a politics editor.

The Daily Beast editor-in-chief John Avlon announced Stein’s move, tweeting, “Very happy that @samsteinhp will be joining @thedailybeast – he’s personally & professionally respected across media. Welcome to TeamBeast!”

Stein was one of HuffPost first hires, and in 2009, became the first reporter from an online-only outlet to get the opportunity to ask the president a question at a press conference. His move comes as HuffPost undergoes other restructuring efforts as well.
