The Associated Press named the members of its White House team, announcing who the chief White House correspondent will be, and which reporters will cover which policy issue. The AP also announced new beats for reporters. Here’s a breakdown:
- Julie Pace: chief White House correspondent covering domestic and foreign policy, key moments and reporting on the presidency
- Josh Boak: covering economic policy, the budget, tax reform, trade and infrastructure spending
- Julie Bykowicz: national political reporter; she’ll work in conjunction with AP’s investigative team covering ethics, examining conflicts and influence at the White House and Congress, and now President-elect Donald Trump’s promise to ‘drain the swamp’
- Jill Colvin: covering issues such as climate and the environment following a stint on the 2016 presidential campaign
- Brad Klapper: national security editor, he is a foreign policy reporter for the AP.
- Josh Lederman: covering the State Department, moving from the White House beat.
- Matt Lee: will continue his role as the AP’s diplomatic writer
- Jon Lemire: will cover President-elect Trump’s New York operations, his business and links between Trump’s New York activities and the White House
- Catherine Lucey: is a politics reporter for the AP who will cover family, child-care and Medicare policy as well as Ivanka Trump
- Matthew Pennington: covering U.S. policy in Asia
