The Atlantic expands its global reporting team

The Atlantic editor in chief Jeffery Goldberg announced that Rachel Donadio, Yasmeen Serhan, and Krishnadev Calamur will join the outlet’s global reporting team.

After thirteen years at The New York Times, including as a book reviewer, Rome bureau chief, and most recently a European culture correspondent, Donadio will serve as The Atlantic’s Paris-based culture and politics writer. Donadio shared the move on twitter.

Serhan, described by the publication’s editor in chief as “one of our brightest young stars,” joined The Atlantic shortly after graduating from the University of Southern California with a Bachelors of Arts in International Relations. Initially working as an editorial fellow, Serhan was promoted to the role of assistant editor just last month. Writing about the nuances of European politics, Serhan will report from The Atlantic’s recently established London bureau.

Calamur, an experienced reporter and editor, has worked for the Washington Examiner, United Press International, NPR, and most recently served as a news editor at The Atlantic. He will cover US-Europe relations, the State Department, and foreign policy more broadly as a global diplomacy correspondent in his new role.
