Political reporter Eli Stokols will be joining The Wall Street Journal as part of its White House coverage team. He will bring with him over a decade of political reporting. He comes to the Journal from POLITICO.

Stokols began his career at Denver’s KDVR-TV, where he won several regional Emmy Awards. In addition to his on-air work with the station, he was a regular contributor to POLITICO Magazine and the Denver based 5280 Magazine.

After joining POLITICO as a national politics reporter in 2015, Stokols was assigned to cover the Republican side of the 2016 presidential election.

In an email to his staff, Wall Street Journal Washington Bureau chief Paul Beckett praised the move, saying Stokols’ television experience will raise the Journal’s profile and help it “reach deeper into the White House.”
